Men’s leg waxing is very popular as a hair removal method, even though it has some pretty significant drawbacks, including ingrown hairs, stubble and continual treatments with no end in sight.
But new laser hair removal, using the latest technology out of the US, offers all the benefits of leg waxing for men without any of the drawbacks.
This is because men’s laser hair removal for the legs or body actually results in less hair growth over time, plus, you don’t have to wait for the hair to grow back before you get your next treatment.
Is there any such thing as permanent hair removal? Find out here.
Laser hair removal works by using a process called photothermolysis. This means taking light energy and converting it into heat energy. This heat then targets the melanin in a hair follicle and destroys it, in turn damaging the hair follicle. After a recommended number of treatments, the follicle becomes so damaged that the hair can no longer grow.
Another plus that laser has over men’s leg waxing is no more ingrown hairs. Because an ingrown hair is caused by a hair continuing to grow into the hair follicle (where it traps oil and bacteria and becomes infected), this is no longer an issue with laser because the laser treatment instantly stops the hair from growing.
Laser will also cost you less over time than men’s leg waxing, because while waxing does not result in less hair growth over time and will have to be repeated for as long as you want smooth legs, laser does result in less hair growth because of the damage to the hair follicle.
After your recommended number of sessions, hair grows back finer and lighter and only requires a touch-up session or two per year to keep it at bay. Compare that to a monthly men’s leg waxing!
